The Really Good Stuff Mail Center has helped me keep our classroom organized and has made managing student materials so much easier. Our A Little SPOT of SEL books and jumbo emotion cards have been especially meaningful. We use them during our social-emotional learning lessons to talk about different emotions, identify how we are feeling, and learn strategies to help us regulate our emotions. One of our favorite activities has been using the jumbo cards to identify emotions that someone else might be feeling and discussing what clues helped us figure it out. The Elephant & Piggie books have also been a wonderful addition to our classroom library. My students love the funny stories, and they have helped spark an interest in reading while building confidence in students who are still developing their reading skills.\r\n\r\nMy students were so excited when they first saw our new stuff! They were especially drawn to the new books and could not wait to look through them and choose one to read. The SEL books and emotion cards immediately sparked conversations about feelings they could relate to. It was so sweet to watch students recognize emotions in the characters and begin making connections to their own feelings. The Elephant & Piggie books quickly became a favorite, and several students who were hesitant to read were excited to pick one up and give it a try. Seeing their excitement and confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue building a classroom community where students feel safe talking about their emotions, asking for help, and using strategies to regulate their feelings. We will continue using our A Little SPOT of SEL books and emotion cards throughout the year as we learn how to identify and manage big feelings. We are also continuing to grow as readers, and the Elephant & Piggie books will give students fun, engaging texts that encourage them to practice reading independently and build confidence.
