The new bouncy balls, sensory wall, playhouse, and climbing caterpillar have brought so much joy, movement, and creativity to our students' day.\r\n\r\nThe very first time the children saw the new materials, their excitement was contagious! They squealed, laughed, and couldn't wait to explore. Some ran straight to the climbing caterpillar, while others gathered at the sensory wall, curious about each new texture and sound. It was such a heartwarming moment to see them play, share, and problem-solve together.\r\n\r\nWe've been using these new resources every day to build important motor, sensory, and social skills. The playhouse has become the perfect spot for imaginative play — students love pretending to \"cook,\" \"host guests,\" and \"build stories\" together. The bouncy balls have turned into both a fun movement break and a tool for teamwork activities. The climbing caterpillar helps students develop balance and confidence, while the sensory wall has become a calming and engaging spot for everyone.\r\n\r\nYour donation has truly made a difference. The moment students walk into our decorated classroom, their faces lit up with amazement. The space had completely transformed—detective clues lined the walls, \"Starbooks\" stations invited them to sample new book genres, and every corner offered a new adventure in learning. Parents later shared that their children came home eager to tell every detail, from the mystery they solved to the books they \"ordered\" at our reading café.\r\n\r\nThroughout the day, students explored character traits through a detective investigation, searching for textual \"evidence\" and collaborating to crack the case. At the \"Starbooks\" station, they rotated through genres, discovering new favorites and learning to identify what makes each type of story unique. The costumes and decorations set the tone, but it was their excitement and engagement that made the day truly unforgettable.\r\n\r\nThese resources helped create an immersive experience where learning felt like play, and students connected deeply with our lessons. As a teacher, I love my students and always want to give them the world. When I see a need in the classroom that I can not address, It breaks my heart. To see family, friends, and even complete strangers give their own hard earned money to support my students, it reminds me of the goodness of others and that there are people in this world who appreciate education and those who work hard every day to help children. \r\n\r\nI cannot express how special it was for us when we received our Donors Choose items. Of course, the most exciting items for the students were the headphones. Oh my goodness! You would have thought it was Christmas morning in my classroom. Since we received the new headphones, my students suddenly became more responsible with the materials assigned to them. They check out the headphones each morning, check them in at the end of the day, and make sure they are all in the correct cubbies before leaving to go home.\r\n\r\nThese headphones have also had a dramatic impact on the focus and learning my students have on their online assignments and goals. The old headphones, assuming the students had a pair to use, may or may not have had padding for the ears remaining on the earpieces, and many only had one earpiece that still transmitted any sort of sound. Some of these worked off and on, meaning students only heard parts of words instead of the whole word that was read. Since we received the headphones, 100% of my students have passed multiple units in a supplemental reading program the district provides for us to use. Before we received these, there were some students who hadn't even made it through the work of one unit since the beginning of school. In another multi subject program, our class has practiced 1,004 skills, has become proficient in 536 skills, and has mastered 474 skills. This in and of itself is huge. Now that students have headphones that work perfectly, students are able to focus on learning instead of trying to make partially broken headphones work. \r\n\r\nIt's interesting to witness how new materials can bring about pride and self discipline in children. Not unlike the responsible behaviors my students demonstrated when they had new headphones to care for, they also showed more self discipline and took more responsibility in the classroom climate when presented with the caddies and scissors. They have also shown more respect towards each other and their possessions. \r\n\r\nThe caddies are all bright, fun colors. We filled them not only with the new colorful scissors from the Donors Choose project, but also with multi-colored highlighters, pencils, erasers, and glue sticks. We have also occasionally filled them with temporary items such as our protractors, rulers, and other items we only use for a short period of time or for temporary projects. While some students already had these items for their use, others didn't, and they always seemed embarrassed when we needed to use them and they had to ask. Now, they can just reach into the caddy to get what they need just like the other students. I have seen an improvement in behavior and treatment of others because of this. \r\n\r\nTo close, your donation has made a significant impact not only on the learning for my students, but also in their self esteem. They are all special to me, and this has helped them see how special they are to others. Your giving has made a huge impact.
