These books have quickly become some of my students' favorite resources, and they have brought so much joy, meaningful conversation, and learning into our school days.\r\n\r\nMy students absolutely love reading and listening to the Little Spot stories. They are fascinated by the different emotions represented in each book and are beginning to recognize that all feelings are okay and that learning how to understand and manage those feelings is an important part of growing. The stories give us a wonderful way to talk about emotions in a language that is simple, relatable, and easy for young children to understand.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite things has been seeing how excited my students become when they recognize a Little Spot book. They often ask if we can have a read-aloud, and some have even begun requesting specific stories based on how they are feeling. What started as a collection of books has become something my students genuinely look forward to and connect with.\r\n\r\nThese books are also helping us build important literacy skills. As we read together, students are practicing listening comprehension, vocabulary, making connections, identifying characters and feelings, making predictions, and discussing the meaning behind a story. They are learning that reading isn't just about decoding words—it is also about understanding, thinking, connecting, and sharing ideas.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these books have created opportunities for meaningful conversations about kindness, empathy, self-control, friendship, and understanding ourselves and others. I have watched students make connections between the emotions in the stories and situations they experience in their own lives. Those moments are incredibly valuable in a classroom.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has given my students more than just books. You have given them stories that help them understand themselves, tools to talk about their feelings, and opportunities to develop a lifelong love of reading. Every time a student asks, \"Can we read a Little Spot book?\" I am reminded of how meaningful your donation truly is.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and helping create a classroom where reading, learning, and emotional growth can happen together. They colored their little hearts out, created backgrounds, learned about sequencing, and practiced retelling over and over until they got it just right. Then they were able to perform for their teachers AND our principal!\r\n\r\nNot only are these skills on Oklahoma Academic Standards for English Language Arts, but they are also cross-referenced on our Information Technology Standards for Education and American Association of School Librarian standards. So our kiddos are bopping to the top, hitting all those benchmarks on their way!\r\n\r\nMost of all, our students enjoy this hands-on project so very much. They're laughing, smiling, spooking themselves and each other, and having a grand 'ole time while learning.
