The addition of these Chromebooks will allow my students more opportunities to take AR tests from the books they’ve read. When there isn’t an available computer to take a test, they don’t want to read another book until they get to take a comprehension test on the book they just read. They fear that if they start another book, they’ll forget the first one or get the two books confused. Being able to test right after they finish reading will encourage them to continue finding good books to read. They set monthly goals for themselves and celebrate when they reach them. Completing these tests and accruing points for them builds their self-esteem and creates confident readers.
