The materials you provided gave the students the ability to prepare to welcome him into our class and into their homes. \r\nBefore we welcomed Humphrey into our classroom, we did a novel study over the book The World According to Humphrey and a research project over caring for a Hamster. Once he arrived, the students were prepared to adequately meet his needs. They created art pieces to celebrate his arrival. Each day, a few students have the opportunity to interact with Humphrey and study his behaviors. The students absolutely love the environment created through having a class pet. Every week, the students look forward to finding out who will spend the weekend with Humphrey. We will continue to learn more about our friend throughout the school year.
