Having access to basic hygiene supplies allows students to take care of themselves discreetly and return to class feeling more confident and focused. These resources are being used daily in the counselor's office to help students regulate their emotions, build coping skills, and take care of their basic needs so they can return to class feeling safe and ready to learn.\r\nOne powerful moment came when a student who was feeling overwhelmed used a calming tool for the first time. After a few quiet minutes, they were able to talk through what they were experiencing and rejoin their class with renewed confidence. When students first became aware of the available supplies, many showed visible relief. Several shared that knowing these items were accessible made them feel supported and safe at school.\r\nBecause of your support, our next steps involve teaching students how to independently use these tools as part of their coping strategies. Your donation has helped create a space where students feel supported not just academically, but emotionally as well. Ensuring students have consistent access to hygiene products allows us to respond immediately when needs arise and focus our counseling lessons on self-care, confidence, and readiness to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1763178814007,"projectUrl":"project/calm-minds-strong-futures/9870917/","projectTitle":"Calm Minds, Strong Futures","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kirby","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8316836"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_69425","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":217,"numTeachers":13,"percentFrplEligible":72,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":58,"percentIndigenous":21,"percentLatinx":14,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"16.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":69425,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Howe High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Howe High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/howe-independent-school-district-67/howe-high-school/69425"}
