Because of your donations, my classroom has been transformed into a more engaging, welcoming, and collaborative space for my students.\r\n\r\nThe new games have already made a huge impact—my students light up when they get the chance to use them. They're building communication skills, practicing teamwork, and even strengthening critical thinking in ways that feel fun and natural. It's been incredible to see how something as simple as a game can bring so much joy and connection to our class.\r\n\r\nThe bulletin board décor has also helped create a more positive and inspiring environment. The bright visuals and motivational messages make our classroom feel inviting and full of energy. \r\n\r\nYour kindness doesn't just make a difference in our classroom, it makes my students feel seen, valued, and excited to learn each day. This class created a unique opportunity for 10 general education students to sign up and spend time in the sensory classroom alongside 20 of our special education students. In a space filled with galactic vibes, fiber optic lights, and soothing textures, students are encouraged to socialize, hang out, and connect in an environment that fosters mutual understanding and inclusion.\r\n\r\nThe purpose of the R&E class was to build an inclusive environment within a space where our special education students already felt safe and supported. The lunchroom can often be a loud, overstimulating place, and with limited staff and resources, it's not always possible to create inclusive spaces across campus. This sensory room has filled that gap, offering a welcoming refuge for students who need a break, a connection, or just a quiet moment to reset.\r\n\r\nWe've also seen this space become vital for other services: students receiving counseling and speech therapy now have a calm, private area to meet. Our Speech Pathologist no longer has to struggle to find a quiet corner—she now has a dedicated, student-friendly room to work in.\r\n\r\nA sensory room isn't just a fun luxury or an extra perk funded by sites like Donors Choose—it is truly a necessity. It serves students of all ages, backgrounds, and learning profiles. Most importantly, it helps build bridges—between peers, between departments, and between the present and a more inclusive future in both schools and the workforce.\r\n\r\nThank you for being the catalyst behind this change. Your contribution has impacted more students than you can imagine.\r\n\r\nWith deep appreciation,","fullyFundedDate":1735673879014,"projectUrl":"project/ghs-sensory-room/8819065/","projectTitle":"GHS Sensory Room","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Moore","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9777183_orig.jpg?crop=2042,2042,x1989,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727207823865","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9777183"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_107290","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":782,"numTeachers":47,"percentFrplEligible":72,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":42,"percentIndigenous":18,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"16.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.0,"schoolId":107290,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Glenpool High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Glenpool High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/glenpool-public-schools/glenpool-high-school/107290"}
