Because of your gift, my students now have access to new, high‑interest books that are already transforming the way they read, think, and talk about literature.\r\n\r\nThese texts have opened the door to skills that are essential for young readers: making inferences, identifying theme, analyzing character motivation, and building stamina with longer, more complex stories. We've been able to introduce lessons on close reading, annotation, and accountable talk. These are skills that help students move from \"reading the words\" to truly understanding what an author is trying to say.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom has become something joyful and active. Students read in small groups, jot notes in the margins, share predictions, and debate character choices. Our room is full of movement and conversation — kids leaning over books together, asking questions, and recommending titles to one another. It feels like a real community of readers.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have connected deeply with the new books. One student who rarely spoke during reading time now volunteers to read aloud and share her thinking. Another student who struggled to finish a single chapter earlier this year proudly announced that he completed his first novel, and immediately asked for another. Moments like these are happening every day, and they are directly because of your generosity.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and investing in their growth. Your support has made reading feel exciting, empowering, and accessible.
