Because of your generosity, my students now have access to more tools that help them practice important skills like strengthening their hands making patterns on the Lego board, improving coordination crawling through the resistance tunnel, and learning self-regulation strategies with the weighted sloth. Riding the scooter in the hallways for transitions, heavy work and improving eye hand coordination, has been a favorite so far!\r\n\r\nWhen the material arrived, the excitement was immediate, just like Christmas morning. Students were eager to explore and try all the new goodies, and it has been so rewarding to see their confidence grow as they practice and improve. \r\n\r\nThese resources will continue to be used in therapy sessions with students across multiple grade levels and abilities, helping them build independence and confidence that carries into their classrooms and daily lives. Teaching First Grade is so much fun and I love watching my students grow and learn. We all love science, which is why I chose a Lifecycle Project. We used the materials in all kinds of ways. \r\n\r\n1. My students were amazed that complete strangers sent them such fun science resources. The butterfly lifecycle sets were a huge hit. We used them to learn the lifecycle, we labeled pictures, made butterfly books, and of course the excitement of watching the caterpillars go through metamorphosis and become beautiful butterflies was amazing!!\r\n\r\n2. The insect specimens were also amazing. We played musical chairs and used the magnifying glasses to explore the parts of the insects and drew pictures of the insects. \r\n\r\n3. The ant farms were extraordinary!! This is one things I remember as child having in my 2nd grade classroom. My students shared the same excitement as I remember as a child coming in every morning and watching the ants tunnel through the sand. \r\n\r\nI look forward to using the materials in my classroom this school year with my new students!! I know the excitement will remain with my new students.
