Your support ensures that each student has access to the essential tools they need to engage fully in learning. These calculators will allow students to participate in more hands-on activities, explore deeper problem-solving strategies, and gain the confidence necessary to succeed in increasingly challenging math content.\r\n\r\nYour donation directly impacted student learning every day, and we are truly grateful. Because of your kindness, students no longer need to use calculators that are beat up and older than them. Instead, they will be able to focus on learning and building mathematical skills that will carry them into high school, college, and beyond. My students were so excited to unpack them and read the back covers! I had a few of my 10th graders sort the books onto our shelves, and this included reading the back covers and identifying the genre to which the book belonged so it could be tagged and added to the correct part of our shelf (our books are color coded and separated by genre). Once the books were tagged and cataloged, the students were able to check out titles to read.\r\nIn my room, students always have an independent reading novel with them. Wednesdays are designated reading days, and students will read for the entire period. At the end of the period, students have a reader response to complete or a one-page spread to work on. This allows them to showcase what they are reading and interact with the text using the standards we have practiced in class. Responses are graded weekly or one-page spreads are graded every 3 weeks (we alternate assignments based on the skills we are working on in class).\r\nIndependent reading helps students really get into and enjoy the novels they choose. This allows for better discussions, deeper learning, and more creativity. Titles in my library need to stay current in order to entice students to find something they can connect to. Since we have no school library, it is imperative for donors like you to help us bring those newer books into the room and school, so THANK YOU! The book, written in verse, has inspired many of our students to read aloud in class, something that has been a joy to witness. Its unique format and compelling narrative have sparked deep discussions and connections, and I've seen students engage with the material in ways I hadn't anticipated.\r\n\r\nWe're also eager to dive into Romeo and Juliet and Into the Wild.
