To say this has been an incredible upgrade for our students would be a huge understatement.\r\nOut With the Old, In With the New\r\nBefore this project was funded, we were working with an old 3D printer that was hanging on by a thread. The software was outdated and no longer supported, it could only handle single-color prints, and more often than not, prints would fail halfway through. It was frustrating for the kids to spend time designing something only to watch the machine stall out.\r\nThe Bambu printer completely changed the game. From day one, it has been an absolute workhorse! The reliability alone has been a breath of fresh air, but adding multi-color printing through the AMS system blew my students' minds.\r\nHow It Transformed Student Learning\r\nHaving a fast, modern, and reliable 3D printer completely shifted how I teach and how my students learn:\r\n Confidence to Create: Students are no longer scared that their hard work will end in a failed print. They get to see their actual vision come to life—in full, vivid color!\r\n Real-World Skills: They're learning how to slice complex models, manage multi-material prints, and use software that matches what's actually used in modern design and engineering fields today.\r\n Pure Excitement: The level of engagement in my room has skyrocketed. Students literally gather around the printer to watch it work, brainstorming their next ideas on the spot.\r\nThis printer was an amazing gift for our students, and it has breathed whole new life into our classroom. Thank you for giving my kids access to top-notch technology that makes them excited to show up, design, and learn every single day!","fullyFundedDate":1776116016122,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-3d-design-to-life-at-our-high-s/10168851/","projectTitle":"Bringing 3D Design to Life at Our High School","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lawhorn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8691777_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1774399028115","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8691777"},{"teacherId":8691777,"projectId":10195792,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in funding our 3D printer filament! Because of your generosity, our students were able to combine technology, creativity, and empathy through our 3D Printed Kindness Project.\r\nHow the Project Came to Life\r\nStudents took full ownership of this project from start to finish. They carefully chose, designed, and printed small 3D tokens to share with others. But the project didn't stop in the classroom—students took these little creations out into the world to spread unexpected joy. Tokens were hidden all over our school, at local track meets, and even throughout nearby hospitals.\r\nTo track the impact, we set up a dedicated Facebook page. The response from the community was overwhelming! We received heart-warming posts and photos from people who found the tokens, sharing how a tiny 3D print brightened their day during a difficult moment or made them smile at an event.\r\nThe Lasting Impact\r\nThis project had a profound effect on our students:\r\n Engaged Learning: Students gained hands-on experience with 3D design and manufacturing technology.\r\n Empathy in Action: They saw firsthand how a small, thoughtful gesture can ripple out and make a big difference in someone's day.\r\n Pride and Purpose: Seeing community members post about finding their prints gave students a huge sense of accomplishment and connection to the world around them.\r\nThe Gift That Keeps Giving\r\nThanks to your full funding, we were so resourceful with our materials that we still have enough filament left to relaunch the Kindness Project at the start of this upcoming school year! A brand-new group of students will get to experience the joy of creating and giving back right from day one.\r\nYour investment did more than just supply plastic—it sparked creativity, built community connections, and taught our students the value of kindness.
