Thanks to you, our classroom received a new TV and a secure, adjustable TV mount—two resources that have already made a tremendous difference in how my students learn, collaborate, and produce their media projects.\r\n\r\nBefore this project was funded, students often struggled to review video segments, critique work together, or analyze examples of professional broadcasts. We relied on a small, outdated monitor that was difficult for the whole class to see clearly. As a result, group learning was limited, and students couldn't always fully engage in the visual elements that are so important in media production.\r\n\r\nThe arrival of the new TV has completely changed our classroom environment. The large, high-quality screen allows all students—no matter where they're seated—to clearly see footage, graphics, edits, and demonstrations. When we review student work together, everyone can participate and offer feedback. When we study professional examples, students can actually observe the techniques we're discussing: framing, transitions, movement, pacing, visual storytelling, and more.\r\n\r\nThe TV mount has also been a major upgrade for our space. Because it is safely secured and adjustable, we can tilt or reposition the screen depending on the activity. This flexibility has made the room more functional and collaborative. Whether students are working as a broadcast team, reviewing scripts, editing audiovisual projects, or analyzing segments together, the shared display has become the central hub of our lessons.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest changes I've seen is how confident students have become when presenting their work. Showing their projects on a large screen makes them feel like their creations matter. They take more pride in their editing choices, their graphics, and their storytelling because the class can experience their work at full quality—not on a small laptop or a screen that was hard to see.\r\n\r\nThis equipment has also strengthened students' collaboration skills. Instead of crowding around a small device, groups can now gather comfortably and discuss ideas while viewing the same content clearly. This has led to stronger discussions, better revisions, and more thoughtful decision-making. Students are starting to talk and think like a real media team—something that would not have been possible without your support.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your kindness has helped validate my students' creativity. Many of them have never had access to tools like this, yet they are eager to learn, eager to improve, and eager to create meaningful projects. The TV and mount may seem simple, but they have opened up opportunities for clearer instruction, higher-quality feedback, and more engaging learning experiences.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and for choosing to invest in their growth. Your generosity has brought new energy, new possibilities, and new pride into our classroom. The impact you've made will be felt not only this year, but in future classes for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1759264891118,"projectUrl":"project/lights-camera-actionour-student-broad/9534638/","projectTitle":"Lights, Camera, Action—Our Student Broadcasts Need Your Help!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Williams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10111535_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754673729612","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/williamshsa"},{"teacherId":10111535,"projectId":9571966,"letterContent":"I am writing today with deep gratitude and excitement to share how your generous support of our \"Graphic Design & Photo Editing\" project has transformed the learning experience for my students at Horizon Science Academy — Dayton High School. Because of your contribution, our classroom has gained new, high-performance computers and headphones — tools that have made a real difference in our ability to teach and learn digital design and photo-editing skills at a professional level. \r\n\r\nFrom the moment the equipment arrived, the energy in the room changed. Students who previously struggled with outdated computers — freezing screens, slow load times, editing crashes — immediately noticed the difference. For the first time, they could run industry-standard graphic software smoothly, handle large photo files, and experiment with more advanced effects without worrying about the limitations of their hardware. Several students stayed after class to explore tools they had only read about before — layering images, manipulating color, retouching photos — and their excitement was palpable.\r\n\r\nOne of my juniors, who had been hesitant about digital design because of the frustrating technical limitations, told me after class, \"These new computers make me feel like I'm actually doing real design work.\" That statement really struck me. It reinforced how meaningful this project is — not just in terms of providing resources, but in building students' confidence and sense of professionalism.\r\n\r\nBecause of your gift, students are now producing higher-quality posters, photo edits, and design projects for class assignments. This shift has given them a taste of real-world multimedia and design work — something many of them had never imagined before stepping into this class. For a large number of our students, this class is more than a school elective: it's a chance to explore future careers in media, marketing, graphic design, or digital art. Your support didn't just buy computers... you helped open doors to possibilities. \r\n\r\nBeyond technical improvements, I've noticed a change in the classroom atmosphere. Students are more engaged, more collaborative, and more willing to experiment creatively. Some are helping each other with editing tips; others are sharing design ideas and giving peer feedback. The headphones have also helped — giving students the ability to work individually without distraction, which is especially important when they're working with video editing, audio, or detailed photo work.","fullyFundedDate":1757341400227,"projectUrl":"project/graphic-design-photo-editing/9571966/","projectTitle":"Graphic Design & Photo Editing","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Williams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10111535_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754673729612","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/williamshsa"},{"teacherId":8917873,"projectId":9861663,"letterContent":"We want to share our heartfelt thanks with the donors for the generous gift of Ninja cooking tools and machines. The new equipment has transformed our classroom by making hands‑on food‑science labs practical and engaging: students are using the blenders, air fryer, and food processor to investigate chemical reactions in cooking, test how temperature affects texture, and collect data on changes in mass and volume during experiments. A recent project had small groups design and run experiments comparing emulsification techniques for salad dressings — they measured ingredient ratios, documented results, and presented conclusions with photos and graphs. When the cart of shiny new appliances arrived, the students burst into cheers and dove straight into exploratory questions, eager to plan experiments and volunteer as lab leads; their curiosity and collaboration levels jumped immediately. Next, we'll build on those skills by having students design controlled experiments that test variables such as heat, time, and ingredient proportions, record and analyze their data, and create formal lab reports and short instructional videos demonstrating their methods and findings. These steps will strengthen science practices like hypothesis testing, data analysis, peer review, and science communication.
