They have been using them daily to support their learning of new geometric concepts. Most recently, students have used the posters to analyze the parts of a right triangle, using the Pythagorean theorem, recognizing key formulas for area and perimeter, Identifying quadrilaterals and differentiating between them, as well as just to look and learn. \r\nHow did your students react when they first saw the materials?\r\nWhen my students saw all the boxes, they were first curious as to why Ms. Amos had so many packages, and when I opened the materials and shared how we received them there was so much joy, excitement, and awe in the room. Students were not only in shock that we received such an expensive order of materials, models, and posters but they were even more excited and in awe that it was all free and funded by donors. I think it is important that students know people are invested in their education outside of their school and family and this project being funded and delivered did just that, it let students know that other people care and value education! Next steps for this project include getting student groups involved hands on with exploring 3D figures and their nets in 4th quarter.
