Ours is a dropout prevention high school so these have been game-changers. Our students often come to us because a traditional classroom is not one size fits all. Many of our students have undiagnosed mental health problems as well as ADHD. \r\n\r\nThese toys are important tools in the classroom as it provides an outlet while the teacher is teaching. Our students often need movement to help them concentrate, and these tools give them healthy, non-disruptive ways to channel their energy. We've noticed students staying more engaged during discussions and independent work time, which means more learning is happening.","fullyFundedDate":1750256084414,"projectUrl":"project/fidgeting-to-focus/9317842/","projectTitle":"Fidgeting to Focus","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kovitch","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9973344_orig.png?crop=225,225,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750694409459","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9973344"},{"teacherId":9973344,"projectId":9318320,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for making our classroom dreams a reality! Because of your kindness, our students now have their own copies of No Fear Shakespeare: Othello.\r\nAs a dropout prevention high school, we work with students who face significant barriers to academic success. Many of our 9th-12th graders have had challenging experiences with literature in the past, and Shakespeare can feel especially intimidating. Your donation changes that narrative.\r\n\r\nWhen we introduced the No Fear Shakespeare books, our students immediately appreciated having the side-by-side modern translation. One student flipped through the pages and said, \"Wait, so I can actually understand what's happening?\" That moment of relief and possibility is exactly what we hoped for. These books will be the foundation of our Shakespeare unit next semester, but already, students are asking questions and showing curiosity about the story. Having their own copies means they can write notes, highlight passages, and truly make the text their own—something that's rarely possible in a school with limited funding for book sets.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has given our students more than materials—you've given them access, confidence, and the message that someone believes in their potential. In a dropout prevention setting, that belief can be transformative.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and their futures. We are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1746804839804,"projectUrl":"project/connecting-with-shakespeare/9318320/","projectTitle":"Connecting With Shakespeare","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kovitch","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9973344_orig.png?crop=225,225,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750694409459","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9973344"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_127891","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":51,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":46,"percentWhite":34,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":70.0,"schoolId":127891,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Castle High School - East on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Castle High School - East","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/ohio-department-of-education/castle-high-school-east/127891"}
