They could hardly wait to unpack everything, and their eyes lit up as we pulled out bright comet balls, velcro catch games, textured Lakeshore sensory balls, and so much more. Their absolute favorite part was assembling our brand new storage cart being full of new toys to explore. Having a dedicated cart for all our new gear brought a whole new level of excitement to our playground, and the pure joy and eager anticipation during that unboxing set the stage for how much these new resources have transformed our school day.\r\n\r\nThese materials have completely changed our recess and outdoor movement time into an inclusive, active adventure. During a recent play session, I watched a group of students who usually play on their own come together to organize games using our new gear. The wide variety of toys means there is truly something for every child, whether they want to practice hand eye coordination with the catch sets, run after soaring comet tails, or engage in cooperative group games. Because of your generosity, our new center is up and running, and the kids couldn't be more excited.\r\n\r\nHere is a quick look at how your support is changing our daily routine:\r\n\r\nNumberBlocks Manipulatives: These have quickly become the absolute star of center time! The students are constantly reaching for them, using the familiar characters to build, count, and make connections between numbers and quantity through play.\r\n\r\nWeather Sensory Bottles: These have found a special home in our science center, but they've also become a versatile asset in our calm-down corner. The students love watching the shifting weather patterns, using them both to learn scientific concepts and to self-regulate when they need a quiet moment.\r\n\r\nMagnetic Gears: These have added a fantastic hands-on, engineering element to our play choices. The kids are loving the trial-and-error process of locking the gears together to make them turn, strengthening their fine motor and problem-solving skills in the process.\r\n\r\nLife Cycle Photo Viewers: These are ready to go for our upcoming science units! The students are fascinated by the close-up visuals, and they will be a staple in our classroom as we explore nature and growth throughout the school year.\r\n\r\nWatching their eyes light up as they explore these high-quality, hands-on materials has been wonderful. While we originally requested them to support our non-nappers, their versatility has allowed us to integrate them throughout our entire day. During rest time, the LED drawing tablets and Melissa & Doug Water Wow! books keep our non-nappers silently captivated, allowing their napping peers to sleep peacefully. During center time, these same items double as high-demand independent stations.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the sensory boards and liquid sensory jars have become the heart of our classroom \"Calm-Down Corner.\" Just this past week, one of my young students was feeling completely overwhelmed after a difficult morning transition. Instead of a meltdown, he went straight to the calm-down area, grabbed a liquid sensory jar, and sat quietly watching the colorful bubbles float to the bottom while using the sensory board to self-soothe. Within five minutes, his body was calm, he was smiling, and he was ready to rejoin his friends at center choices. Seeing a four-year-old gain that kind of emotional self-regulation is priceless, and your gift made that moment possible.\r\n\r\nThe day our boxes arrived felt like morning on Christmas! When I pulled out the LED drawing tablets, the room filled with gasps of absolute wonder. The kids could not believe that pressing a single button made their neon drawings magically disappear. The liquid sensory jars were an instant hit, with tiny hands eagerly passing them around to watch the sparkling colors shift. The sheer excitement and joy in the room was electric—they felt so special knowing that kind people sent these brand-new tools just for them.\r\n\r\nNow that my students have mastered using these materials independently, our next step is integrating them into our upcoming unit on Emotions and Self-Regulation. We will be using the sensory jars and boards as hands-on tools during whole-group circle time lessons to practice identifying feelings and learning \"mindful breathing\" techniques. The LED tablets will also be incorporated into our literacy centers for letter-tracing and name-writing practice.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my full-day preschoolers the tools they need to rest, recharge, self-regulate, and learn every single day. Their curiosity and enthusiasm were contagious, and they immediately began engaging with the materials through play and exploration.\r\n\r\nWe are using these resources during our literacy centers and small-group instruction to build foundational skills in letter recognition, letter-sound awareness, and fine motor development. One memorable moment occurred when a student who had been hesitant to participate in writing activities eagerly traced letters in the sand tray and proudly announced, \"I made an A!\" Experiences like these help build confidence and create positive early learning experiences.\r\n\r\nThe tactile letters, Wikki Stix, and magnetic letters have given students opportunities to see, touch, hear, and create letters in many different ways. The sound phones have become a class favorite, allowing children to listen to themselves as they practice letter sounds and develop early phonemic awareness. These hands-on experiences have made learning feel like play while strengthening important readiness skills for reading and writing.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our alphabet studies, students will use these materials to practice matching letters and sounds, sorting objects by beginning sound, and building simple words.
