It has taken a while to get everything in place, but we are almost there! Unfortunately the weather here in Ohio has been too frigid for me to put out our bird feeder but we have found other ways to use some of the materials that you funded. \r\n\r\nTo help prepare for warmer weather and seeing our feathered friends, my students have been creating homemade pinecone bird feeders to put around our campus. The students have really been enjoying this and have been very involved in the process. \r\n\r\nThis project has really inspired students to take an interest in the outdoors and has inspired me to incorporate that concept into my every day lessons. We have daily discussions about native bird species and even birds found around the world. We have talked about what makes birds special, how they get their names, what they eat, and where they are found. It is my hope that they will take this knowledge with them and continue to be curious about the nature that they see around them.
