From the bottom of my heart, thank you. An iPad, iPad case, and Apple pencil?! I feel spoiled!\r\n\r\nI have been with my school district for 23 years. At one time, the district speech-language pathologists were provided iPads for student learning. However, as the years went on, our iPads were no longer able to be updated, and the district did not have the funds to replace them. It was devasting for me, as I saw how engaging iPads are for student learning. There are some incredible apps that can be utilized for articulation, expressive language, receptive language, auditory processing, stuttering, pragmatic language, and more. It was such a loss when I no longer had this resource available to my kids.\r\n\r\nNow?! Now, I will be making up for lost time! I have the resources I need to hit the ground running this school year! I have already added learning apps (Articulation Station Hive, Boom Cards, Splingo, Apraxiaville, Peek-a-boo Barn, etc.) and am researching others to continue to add to my learning library. The students cannot believe we are so lucky to not only have an iPad, but to have an Apple pencil making their interactions with the iPad more interactive and precise.\r\n\r\nYou simply don't know how much it means to me that you provided such incredible resources to my students and I.","fullyFundedDate":1778337107972,"projectUrl":"project/tap-talk-thrive-speech-language-t/10279100/","projectTitle":"Tap, Talk, & Thrive: Speech & Language Therapy through Technology!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mathews","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10505500_orig.jpg?crop=1397,1397,x918,y571&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1778267094110","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10505500"},{"teacherId":10505500,"projectId":10295407,"letterContent":"This project has funded some wonderful items for my students. Markers for completing handouts targeting direct skills, post-it notes to use for making notations in their assignments and parent reports, pens for color coding data collection, stickers for daily rewards, and cleaning supplies to keep their area healthy and germ-free.\r\n\r\nOne of the ways I motivate students to not only give their best effort, but to also follow the behavioral rules/expectations in therapy is allowing them to choose a sticker after each therapy session with me. Having so many new stickers for them to choose from, as well as, a quantity that will last me most of the school year, is amazing! Their eyes light up when they see that I have dinosaurs, Disney princesses/characters, sports, animals, funny dog memes, etc!\r\n\r\nPerhaps my favorite item is the \"Smart Cookie\" book. This book is one in a series by Jory John that teaches children confidence and other important skills that relate to my students struggling with pragmatic language. Getting to read this book with my students and produce break-out activities focusing on emotions, self-confidence, and social skills is a blessing.","fullyFundedDate":1779124653990,"projectUrl":"project/therapy-tools-for-success/10295407/","projectTitle":"Therapy Tools For Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mathews","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10505500_orig.jpg?crop=1397,1397,x918,y571&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1778267094110","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10505500"},{"teacherId":10505500,"projectId":10282591,"letterContent":"Amazing...that's the word I would use to describe the items that your donation provided for my students and I. Being able to have my students access technology to make communication skill learning fun and engaging is priceless.\r\n\r\nI have been a speech-language pathologist for 26 years. Over that time, I have amassed countless therapy items. Some of those items are old CD-ROMs that have interactive games to teach various articulation and language skills. While the technology is old, the skills that it teaches is timeless. Because I no longer have a desktop computer to run the games, the Dell Monitor allows me to mirror what is running on my laptop to the monitor. Students are then able to utilize my CD-ROM resources to learn and grow in their communication skills.\r\n\r\nI also was able to purchase a large dry erase board on wheels. Often, as therapists, we are given smaller rooms in which to practice. Because of that, I do not have access to a white board attached to a wall to reinforce lessons, produce practice words/drills, etc. This solves the problem!!\r\n\r\nFinally, I was able to purchase multiple items on Teacher Pay Teachers. Many of the things I purchased were computer skill games for drill work and practice with various communication skills, as well as, printable handouts I plan to send home for home practice.\r\n\r\nAll of my students are thrilled!","fullyFundedDate":1778511114367,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-speech-visual-supports-for-str/10282591/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Speech: Visual Supports for Stronger Communication","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mathews","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10505500_orig.jpg?crop=1397,1397,x918,y571&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1778267094110","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10505500"},{"teacherId":10505500,"projectId":10296113,"letterContent":"Well, I have a brand new Prize Box and incentives for my students thanks to you! Being able to add fidget spinners, squishies, balls, pop-its, candy, and stamps to my tool box for success during the 2026-2027 is AMAZING!!\r\n\r\nIn speech therapy, it is imperative for students to carryover what they are learning during our sessions at home. Research shows that this is the best way for students to make progress with their communication goals. In my classroom, completing five Speech homework assignments earns a chance to select a prize out of my Prize Box. Having such an array to choose from of super modern toys has blown their minds!!\r\n\r\nAs far as the Skittles, M&Ms, and Lemonheads...these are great for use during Speech sessions to reward students for giving forth their best effort and to keep them motivated when tasks are difficult. I love the candy spinner I was able to purchase to make dispensing candy quick and germ-free.\r\n\r\nI literally use the stamp pad and stamp multiple times per session. It is a quick and easy way to ensure that every student's homework is checked and has been counted towards their prize earnings.\r\n\r\nI truly cannot thank you enough for your support.
