Our students are using the new gymnastics mat during our gymnastics unit to practice rolling, balancing, jumping, landing, and other age-appropriate gymnastics skills. The additional mat space gives students a safer and more comfortable surface to practice new skills while building confidence and body control.\r\n\r\nWhen our students first saw the new mat, they were excited to get started! They immediately recognized that they had a new space to move, practice, and challenge themselves. For many students, gymnastics skills can feel intimidating at first, but having a quality mat helps them feel more secure as they try something new and work toward mastering each skill.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue building our gymnastics skills through stations and small-group activities. Students will progress from basic movements to more challenging combinations while focusing on safe landings, balance, coordination, and perseverance. We want every student to experience success, whether they are learning their first forward roll or challenging themselves with a new gymnastics skill.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our students have another resource that allows them to move safely, build confidence, challenge themselves, and have fun while learning. They have been playing most of the games with their friends throughout the year. I loved how this games made very close together, students even use the games whenever they have down time. Students love settling into the comfy chairs with a book in hand, and the new titles have sparked curiosity and enthusiasm across all genres. Many students are choosing books they might not have tried before, simply because they now feel encouraged and excited to explore.\r\n\r\nOur Genre Challenge has been a wonderful motivator. As students read different types of books, they earn color-coded beads and track their progress. This system has helped students set goals, reflect on their reading habits, and take pride in their accomplishments. It has also encouraged meaningful conversations about books, authors, and favorite genres.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, this project has helped students grow as confident, motivated readers. They are building reading stamina, strengthening comprehension skills, and learning that reading can be both relaxing and rewarding.
