A colleague of mine recommended that I try the program, and my students and I are still a little bit in shock that we received this donation. \"Guys! Look! Strangers who love supporting schools and kids!\" Your generosity blew us away, and we are thrilled to continue using the POSCA Acrylic Markers again next year.\r\n\r\nThere is a unique excitement that comes with receiving a high-quality, brand-new art supply. My students were so happy the day I introduced this project and shared that we had plenty of markers to go around. In the past, I had let students add small embellishments with a single pack of these acrylic markers. I also had to check them out and back in after a set amount of time to ensure equity in my classroom. Your donation created a sense of creativity that was beautiful to witness as this time constraint and burden of sharing were removed. The expressive nature of this project was unleashed by the abundance of acrylic markers your donation provided.\r\n\r\nI submitted two of my students' Reggie Laurent-inspired paintings to a Juneteenth celebration in our city. The celebration included student artwork, music, poetry readings, and contributions from schools throughout Columbus, Ohio. One of our submissions was chosen, and it looked great on display. This was very encouraging for our school and for the individual student whose work was selected. It will also continue to encourage all of my students to give their best when creating. These markers are very expensive and very nice, and we feel very special to have them in our art room this coming year.","fullyFundedDate":1774106986239,"projectUrl":"project/painting-expressive-lines-inspired-by-re/9964307/","projectTitle":"Painting Expressive Lines inspired by Reggie Laurent","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Haack","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10387522_orig.png?crop=1657,1657,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1786715586679","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10387522"},{"teacherId":1398662,"projectId":10207187,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous support! Because of your generosity, our students now have meaningful, tangible recognition for the positive choices they make each day. Your donation has helped create an atmosphere where kindness, hard work, persistence, and improvement are celebrated in a fun and exciting way.\r\n\r\nStudents earn entries into a drawing when they demonstrate outstanding character and effort. This might look like helping a classmate without being asked, sticking with a challenging assignment instead of giving up, showing noticeable academic growth, or consistently putting forth their best effort. When a name is pulled, that student gets to choose a prize from our Reward Cart. The excitement is contagious! Even students whose names are not pulled cheer on their classmates and are motivated to keep trying.\r\n\r\nThe Reward Cart has become so much more than a collection of prizes. It represents encouragement. It represents the idea that effort matters. Many of students need extra reminders that their growth and character are seen and valued. When their name is called and they walk up to choose a prize, you can see the pride on their faces. It boosts their confidence and reinforces the behaviors that help them succeed both academically and socially.\r\n\r\nOne of the most powerful parts of this system is that improvement is just as important as achievement. A student who has been struggling but shows persistence and growth has just as much opportunity to be recognized as someone who consistently excels. That message—that progress matters—has made a tremendous difference in our classroom culture. Students are more willing to take risks, try new strategies, and encourage one another.\r\n\r\nI am incredibly grateful for your willingness to invest in our students.
