Students couldn't wait to get started and immediately began brainstorming what they could create. There was laughter, focused collaboration, and plenty of proud moments as towers stood tall, parachutes floated successfully, and designs improved with each attempt.\r\n\r\nTo celebrate all of their hard work and successful STEM projects, we ended with a huge class party! It was a joyful way to recognize their perseverance, creativity, and teamwork. Next, students will continue applying these skills as we move into new STEM challenges, using what they've learned about design, testing, and collaboration. The students learned about engineers, evergreen trees, parachutes, and how to make shelves. They took the information they learned to create the tallest tree using cups. They also built a shelf for their elf to sit on. Building a parachute was a bit tricky for my students but they still had a wonderful time attempting. They kept asking for materials, but I explained they had to problem solve with the materials they have been given.
