The students were so excited when the boxes came with all the goodies in them. So far the kids have enjoyed eating the popcorn, cookies, rice krispies, and assorted snacks during snack time. They really like having a variety to choose from and it gives them something to put in their belly before they go home for the evening. I'm not sure when their next meal will come but I know that they leave the classroom with something and can come to school to get two meals each day. For students that come to school late, they can have a granola bar to tie them over until lunch. It has also helped by given them an extra incentive to read. The students love going into the treat box and being able to pick out a special prize or treat for their accomplishment. It is so good to see the students want to learn and be able to feel good about what they are learning and the snacks really help them want to improve in their learning.
