Our a mini fridge is helping keep students hydrated and energized while teaching them financial literacy through budgeting and resource management.\r\n\r\nI teach a group of career-bound seniors, most of whom have jobs and are preparing for life after graduation.\r\nAlong with engaging in literature, they're learning essential skills like managing money and making informed decisions—tools that will help them as they transition into the workforce or further education.\r\n\r\nOur mini fridge is now serving two purposes: it stores cold drinks and snacks for students that can be used as part of our financial literacy lessons. Students are able to manage the fridge by budgeting for snacks, comparing prices, and making smart financial choices. This hands-on experience will connect real-world skills with classroom learning, preparing them for life after high school.\r\n\r\nThis project is not only providing a refreshing way for students to stay focused, but also giving them practical financial skills that tie into decision-making and planning—concepts we often explore in literature.
