Each week, we add books to our bookshelf that align with the theme we are focusing on, helping students make strong connections between stories and what they are learning. Because of our donors' generosity, students have the exciting opportunity to explore new books on a weekly basis, which keeps them engaged and eager to participate during reading time.\r\n\r\nI read these new books to the children each week, and they truly love listening to stories that are fresh and engaging. The students also enjoy doing \"book looks,\" where they independently or with peers look through the books that have been read aloud, revisiting pictures and familiar parts of the stories. Books play a major role in our preschool special education classroom, supporting language development, comprehension, and a love of reading.
