Your donation has brought meaningful resources into our learning environment—and while many people use technology at home, it's important to understand just how transformative these tools are for students in a school setting.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, my students now have access to essential materials and tools that are helping them not only understand science concepts but also apply them in hands-on, engaging ways.\r\n\r\nHere are some highlights of how your donation has made a difference:\r\n\r\nWhite Cart for Lab Materials – A Mobile Science Station\r\nYou might not think of a cart as \"technology,\" but in our lab, it functions like a mobile workstation. During lab experiments, it helps us organize and transport materials efficiently across the classroom. \r\n\r\nPosters – Visual Technology for Tough Topics\r\nThe educational posters you helped provide serve as a kind of visual tech—especially important in subjects like chemistry, where concepts such as atoms, molecules, and chemical bonding can be tough to visualize. One student recently said, \"Now I can actually picture how the atoms are connected!\" The excitement comes from finally making sense of abstract concepts that textbooks alone can't fully explain.\r\n\r\nScissors – Tools for Precision \r\nWhile simple, the scissors were a key tool during our lab on accuracy and precision. We used them to carefully measure and cut materials, reinforcing the importance of exact measurements in scientific experiments. For many students, this hands-on experience helped them understand that even small errors can impact results—a vital lesson in both science and life.\r\n\r\nCalculators – Critical Tech for Solving Real-World Problems\r\nThe calculators were a game-changer during our unit on dimensional analysis. Students used them to convert units and solve complex problems involving measurements. \r\n\r\nPeriodic Table – A Gateway to the World of Elements\r\nThe periodic table has sparked real curiosity. Students have been using it to explore the properties and relationships between elements. Some have even started to recognize patterns and make predictions, which shows a deeper level of understanding. \r\n\r\nYour donation didn't just give us supplies—it gave us access, confidence, and inspiration. For students who are used to passively receiving information, these tools transformed the way they interact with science. They are now creators, problem-solvers, and curious learners.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our classroom and for helping us bring science to life.","fullyFundedDate":1746569646989,"projectUrl":"project/physical-science-on-the-go-tools-for-ex/9195529/","projectTitle":"Physical Science On the Go: Tools for Exploration","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jodelyn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9655640"},{"teacherId":9824093,"projectId":8915986,"letterContent":"I just wanted to send a big thank you for your support! When my students saw the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement. They couldn't wait to dive in, and it was so special to see them feeling supported and engaged.\r\n\r\nWe've already started using the tools in creative ways. One of the highlights so far was a war story project where students used the art supplies to bring their ideas to life. The calming kits have also been a game changer, helping students focus, feel safe, and manage emotions throughout the day.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be working on \"emotion journals,\" where students can express their feelings through drawing and writing. It's all thanks to you that we can create these meaningful learning moments!\r\n\r\nYour generosity means so much to us. One challenge I faced in my classroom was managing restroom breaks. Some students would take advantage of the time, often spending more than 15 minutes outside the classroom, which disrupted the flow of learning. To address this, I started using a laminated restroom pass, limiting breaks to just 5 minutes. This simple solution has made a noticeable difference. Not only has it reduced distractions, but it has also helped me maintain the structure and focus needed for students to engage with the material. It's been a small but effective tool in keeping students on track while still giving them the necessary freedom.\r\n\r\nTeaching biology requires creating an environment where students can truly see and connect with the concepts we're discussing. I've found that incorporating hands-on activities, like using colored pencils, markers in doing worksheets, really helps bring these concepts to life. When students can visualize the material in a creative, tangible way, it deepens their understanding and engagement. I've noticed that my students become more excited and enthusiastic about learning when they have the chance to express themselves through art. Not only does this help them grasp complex ideas, but it also gives them the freedom to be creative, which encourages them to express their unique perspectives and personalities. It's a powerful way to make biology feel more personal and meaningful to them.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding aspects of teaching is witnessing the transformation that happens when students are given the right tools and encouragement. Since receiving your donation, I have already noticed an increase in engagement, creativity, and collaboration among the students. They are more excited about learning, and their enthusiasm is contagious!\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your kindness and generosity. Your impact on my students' lives is immeasurable, and I am deeply grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1728417927566,"projectUrl":"project/make-science-colorful-and-fun/8649634/","projectTitle":"Make Science Colorful and Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jodelyn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9655640"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_80050","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":967,"numTeachers":62,"percentFrplEligible":39,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":77,"percentIndigenous":4,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"11 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":81.0,"schoolId":80050,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Minot High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Minot High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-dakota/minot-public-schools/magic-city-campus-senior-high-school/80050"}
