We have used all of these supplies, and we will continue to do so next semester and for many years to come. You have no idea the impact your donation has made and will make in the future.\r\nSeveral weeks ago, student began growth of bean seeds using the donated petri dishes. Once germination occurred, the hydroponics kits have allowed students to continue to observe growth of bean seeds. Students have been able to observe the full life cycle, and they will continue to discuss the factors that impact bean plant growth. Both the petri dishes and the hydroponics kits made this learning opportunity possible. Students have been interested in seeing plants grow without soil, and this further reinforces concepts we have been learning about plant physiology and adaptations. \r\nAdditional donated laboratory supplies have been used in the following ways. Students have used microscope slides to compare and contrast cell and tissue types. They \"ooh and ah\" over the preserved microscopic specimens. We were even able to make the slides available during a recent Early and Middle College Showcase Night. Potential new students and their families were excited to view specimens preserved on the microscope slides. They were also impressed by the hydroponics kits. The donated petri dishes have been used for other laboratories involving the impact of environmental conditions on earthworm behavior. They will also be used in Earth and Environmental Science for laboratories involving UV Radiation. Test tubes, test tube racks, and Kimwipes have been used repeatedly for a broad variety of laboratory exercises.\r\nPlease accept my sincere thanks for your donation to my classroom. Each and every student has been positively impacted by your donation, and the impact of your donation will go far beyond this semester since almost all of the supplies are reusable.
