While many donors may think of technology only in terms of computers or tablets, in our classroom the laminating machines and hands-on materials are powerful tools for helping students practice real-world tasks in ways that are durable, engaging, and accessible. With laminated visuals, schedules, and activity boards, students can interact with materials daily without them wearing out, which provides consistency and structure that is so important for their success.\r\n\r\nOur students are most excited about the hands-on learning opportunities these materials make possible. Instead of simply hearing about a concept, they are able to physically manipulate, match, and sort items, which makes abstract ideas more concrete. One student in particular previously struggled with staying on task, but with the laminated supports, they are able to complete activities with minimal prompting. This not only increases their confidence but also helps them build the skills they will need for everyday life.
