Because we now have consistent access to proper sanitation supplies, we've been able to increase the number of hands-on labs without worrying about stretching materials too thin. Not having to spend our limited class funds on basic necessities has allowed us to invest in higher-quality ingredients and more exciting, skill-building recipes.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new equipment, their reactions were immediate, especially the chef knives. There's something powerful about being trusted with real tools of the trade. It shifted their mindset from \"school cooking\" to thinking and acting like real chefs. During a recent knife skills lab, I saw a level of focus and confidence that I hadn't seen before. The sturdy cutting boards and sharp, reliable knives made a noticeable difference in both safety and precision, and students took more pride in their work because of it.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these resources are opening the door for deeper, more advanced culinary experiences.
