We are using the new standing desks in a variety of ways! Students are able to freely use the standing desks whenever they feel like they need a moment to stand and get their wiggles out. This seemed to help them stay more focused and engaged. They use the desks to move around the room and in turn, it keeps them engaged throughout the entirety of the lesson.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the standing desks, they were so excited! They loved the idea of having a choice between sitting and standing. It was like a mini adventure in the classroom, and many of them couldn't wait to try them out. There was a lot of energy in the room, and I could tell they felt like they had some control over how they worked, which made the learning environment feel even more positive.\r\n\r\nThe next step in our current project is to start a collaborative writing project where students will work together in small groups. They'll be using the standing desks to write stories, sketch illustrations, and brainstorm ideas as a team. The flexibility of the desks will allow them to move around and work in different spots, helping them stay engaged and creative as they put their ideas into action. We're also planning to incorporate more hands-on activities with math and reading, using the desks to keep them active and involved.","fullyFundedDate":1735571878685,"projectUrl":"project/a-place-to-be-wiggly/8949810/","projectTitle":"A Place to Be Wiggly!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Linville","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9840920"},{"teacherId":8493492,"projectId":8541162,"letterContent":"I just wanted to send a thank you telling you how your donation has impacted my classroom.
