While studying cells, students have been able to use the pencils and other classroom supplies provided to create and label detailed cell diagrams. The supply kit, including the chemicals and slide cover sets, have also allowed students to participate in hands-on microscope activities and examine cell samples more closely.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding moments was watching students carefully prepare their slides, use the cover sets, and work together to observe and identify cell structures. Instead of only learning about cells from a textbook or diagram, they were able to experience science through hands-on investigation.\r\n\r\nWe will continue using the materials in kit during upcoming investigations so students can strengthen their observation, evidence-gathering, and scientific reasoning skills.\r\n\r\nThank you to our donors for helping make these hands-on science experiences possible. My students' eyes lit up with pure excitement as we unboxed the colorful new books, interactive writing journals, and specialized literacy tools. For many of my students, having brand-new, high-quality materials made them feel truly valued and seen. One student immediately held a new book to their chest and asked, \"Are these really for us to keep using every day?\" That moment of genuine joy set the tone for everything we have accomplished since.\r\n\r\nThese resources have transformed our daily language arts block into an engaging, interactive workshop. We are currently using the new books and writing journals for a collaborative storytelling project where students research a topic, draft their own stories, and illustrate their ideas. The fresh materials have made reading less intimidating and writing much more approachable.
