As a result of the overwhelming and rapid response, I have been able to incorporate our snack \"Success Seekers\" into our schools ECS self-contained classroom pre-vocational activities. Our fantasitic ECS teachers will provide our amazing students with snacks while they are learning how to complete tasks that could lead to employment after school. They were so excited to have an opportunity to choose from the variety of available snack choices!\r\n\r\nAll students in our building have an opportunity to receive a snack, from me, during the day. With a larger selection of small treats in our inventory, I am working with teachers to include those treats in as completion incentives, more like a bonus treat. We know the power of food when shared with the purpose of bringing a commmunity togethers. People show up. Relationship are formed, and people look for ways to pay it forward. That's what our students did. They stopped to talk to me each day, sometimes the same students and sometimes new faces. It was obvious that word got out, because the snacks starting running out faster. We looked at grades, talked about ways to improve and even built strong relationships where they would stop by daily to chat. It's been a wonderful and amazing year of connecting with students, teachers and parents!
