Due to your donation, we were able to put together a Calming Kit for every room in the school building. This means that not only each classroom teacher received one, but the specialist teachers, office staff, student services hallway and intervention classrooms. Several teachers who do not have a homeroom class were so appreciative to receive one. \r\n\r\nThese kits are universal for the whole school. There are breathing strategies, sensory strategies and other fidgets to assist with emotional regulation. Due to the generosity of the donors, we were able to print strategy cards, include breathing techniques and put instructions in each box. \r\n\r\nThe school counselors presented these calming kits to the entire school staff and shared the \"why\" behind the kits. The staff was very engaged in the presentation and asked thoughtful questions to best use the kits. \r\n\r\nStudents are utilizing the kits in their classroom when they are experiencing big emotions. They are instructed to use the timer, pick a strategy or two and take their break.
