My students and I use our rug every day for whole-group lessons, morning meetings, read-alouds, class discussions, and celebrations. It has quickly become a special gathering place in our classroom where students can come together, learn from one another, and build our classroom community. One of my favorite moments was watching my students gather on the rug for a read-aloud and share their thoughts and connections with the story. It may seem like a simple resource, but having a comfortable and welcoming space for students to gather has made a meaningful difference in our classroom.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the rug, they were so excited! They immediately wanted to sit on it and were eager to make it part of our daily routines. We have talked about how our rug is a shared space where everyone belongs and where we can learn, listen, and support one another. Your generosity helped create more than just a comfortable place to sit, you helped create a space where my students feel connected and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nRight now, we are continuing to build our skills in reading, writing, and mathematics as we grow as a classroom community. My students will continue using our rug for collaborative discussions, partner activities, math talks, and read-alouds as we work toward becoming more confident and independent learners. Thank you for giving my students a welcoming space to learn, share, and grow together.
