Your generosity has allowed my students to explore fossils and the evidence they provide about Earth's past in a much more engaging way!\r\n\r\nAs we worked through Earth's place in the universe, students examined specimens, sketched, and made observations. They thought like paleontologists as they pieced together clues about organisms and environments from long ago. Students LIKE science because they are naturally curious beings. They LOVE science when they are given the lab tools to pair with that curiosity. \r\n\r\nOne of my favorite parts was watching students talk to one another about what they were seeing. Students were piecing together the geologic time scale as they pulled fossils in accordance with the paper insert guides. They asked questions, made predictions, and often had to rethink their ideas when the evidence didn't match what they originally expected. Those moments are exactly what I want science to look like in my classroom.\r\n\r\nWe will continue building on this work by using evidence from fossils to better understand changes in life on Earth over time. Students will also have opportunities to explain what their evidence tells them and connect their observations to the larger story of Earth's history.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make these experiences possible.
