Reading as a class supports pronunciation, vocabulary development, and comprehension while also helping students \"buy in\" to the story because they can discuss and share the experience with their peers. I chose the book \"The Rise and Fall of Dinosaurs\" for my students because it holds their interest while still developing the skills they need to navigate informational texts throughout their lives. I am also hoping this will help them develop a love of reading longer nonfiction texts, as they previously did not have access to a class set of nonfiction books. Nonfiction books help students build their vocabulary, differentiate between fact and fiction, and allow their curiosity to flourish!\r\n\r\n\"The Rise and Fall of Dinosaurs\" allows us to bridge the gap between fiction and nonfiction on the same topic, as students will be reading this book alongside the Jurassic Park PDF. This book will also allow us to meet our NC ELA standards! Thank you again to everyone who was involved in making this book available to the students at our school. Your donation has made a tremendous impact on both me and my students, and I truly cannot thank you enough. As a middle school English Language Arts teacher, I see every day how important it is for students to have access to materials that not only support their learning, but also inspire them to grow, explore, and imagine. Your contribution has helped fill our classroom with resources that do exactly that.\r\n\r\nThe majority of this project focused on expanding our classroom library with new novels, and I cannot express how exciting it has been to watch my students react to the books now available to them. Many of my students struggle to find stories that genuinely interest them, and some are reluctant readers who need just the right book to spark a connection. Because of your generosity, we were able to add a diverse range of titles—books that speak to different experiences, interests, and reading levels. That variety matters so much. As a leader in the classroom, it brings joy to my profession to see students have the option to choose works based around their interests. Your generosity has impacted me as well as my students. Thank you is an understatement.","fullyFundedDate":1754131034376,"projectUrl":"project/student-and-classroom-needs/9442608/","projectTitle":"Student and Classroom Needs","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Pruitt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8537001_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751418797784","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8537001"},{"teacherId":9082972,"projectId":9324575,"letterContent":"I cannot begin to thank you enough for your support of my classroom and my students. It truly means the world to me to have so many people support the mission of educating youth with exceptional needs. \r\n\r\nOur classroom is truly our second home. My students and I, although in middle school spend most of the day together in my room. It is their home-base, their safe place and I am so thankful for that. I strive to make my classroom as safe, welcoming, comforting, and accessible as possible for all students to meet their needs both academically, socially and emotionally. \r\n\r\nYour donations have allowed us to grow our calm down corner and provide some much needed coping tools. The weights dogs get used daily, the bean bag pillow is a favorite to reset with. The wiggle cushions are often taken with students to the general education classes to allow them to be successful. Our yoga ball chair and bouncing chair are frequently fought over in who gets to use it daily. \r\n\r\nI have gotten to watch students thrive academically because they have the tools to cope with needing to wiggle while still being able to work and that is all thanks to you, your generous donations and your belief in me as an educator. \r\n\r\nI would not be able to provide all that I do, or continue on without your support and I truly cannot thank you enough!
