I teach students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. We read a variety of fiction and nonfiction books and articles throughout the year to allow students to explore different ideas, perspectives, and real-world issues. I believe that, whenever possible, students should be leading discussions with limited guidance from the teacher. I also place strong emphasis on writing in my classroom to help students develop strong communication skills and explore their own thoughts on different topics. My ultimate goal is always to help students grow into well-rounded adults who can think critically, express themselves confidently, and remain respectful and considerate of others' viewpoints.
