Our children were so excited to open the boxes when they arrived. They have loved playing with the new large community helpers in our block center. They are so big and easy to grasp for our special needs children in the classroom. The larger families made of soft materials have been a great addition as well. The children have been using them with our doll house. The new ice cream treats have been a big hit in our dramatic play center. The farm gears and space nesting toys have made our manipulative table a favorite place for the children to play in. The children love to race to new tot cars as well. Our preschool students are loving our new tuff tray. The children were so excited when they entered they classroom and saw the huge tray on it's stand in our room. It was filled with fall items to explore. They could not wait to dig into the leaves and pumpkins that were on the tray. We then used the tray to crave our class pumpkin on. We have also used it to sort colored pom poms on with vampire teeth. There are so many different uses for this versatile tray. As we explore these stories together, students are practicing how to identify main ideas, make predictions, and connect what they read to their own lives. Many of the books also introduce important social and emotional lessons—such as empathy, perseverance, and celebrating differences—which naturally lead to meaningful classroom discussions. These texts are helping students not only become stronger readers but also more thoughtful individuals.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is an engaging and joyful experience. Students read in small groups, with partners, and independently, depending on the lesson. During our reading block, you'll often find students eagerly sharing favorite parts of a story, asking questions about the characters, or writing short reflections about what they've learned. We also enjoy read-aloud time, where students can simply listen and enjoy the flow of language while we discuss themes and vocabulary together.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially connected with the new books. One student who had struggled to stay engaged during reading time now can't wait to pick up a new mystery story each morning. Another student who is usually shy has found her voice through books that feature characters who are kind and brave. Watching students' faces light up as they talk about what they're reading is one of the most rewarding parts of our day—these new books are truly making a difference.","fullyFundedDate":1746785443281,"projectUrl":"project/5th-grade-send-off-book-style/9288680/","projectTitle":"5th Grade Send Off Book Style","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Vaden","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9570802"},{"teacherId":2956734,"projectId":8638148,"letterContent":"Having the charging ports has helped my students with independence in the classroom. These resources have not only given students the opportunity to work independently, but have also allowed me to focus on specific student needs through small group instruction.
