Our \"Bucketfuls of Summer Fun & Learning\" project provided each child with a sand bucket filled with Pete the Cat at the Beach, a bubble wand, sunglasses, a mini coloring book, stackable crayons, and sidewalk chalk. Seeing their excitement as they received their very own summer bucket was such a special way to celebrate all of the learning and growth they accomplished during the school year.\r\nThese materials gave my students opportunities to continue practicing important early learning skills at home in ways that felt like play rather than schoolwork. The book encouraged families to read together and helped students continue building early literacy skills, while the coloring books, crayons, and sidewalk chalk supported creativity, fine-motor development, and early writing and drawing skills. Even simple summer favorites like bubbles offered opportunities for children to play, explore, and spend time outside with their families.\r\nMost importantly, these buckets sent my students into summer knowing that learning can happen anywhere—even at the beach, on the sidewalk, or while blowing bubbles in the backyard! Your support helped us end our year on a joyful note while giving each child materials of their own to keep learning and creating all summer long. We are so grateful that you helped make their summer a little brighter!","fullyFundedDate":1777592389212,"projectUrl":"project/bucketfuls-of-summer-fun-learning/10203171/","projectTitle":"Bucketfuls of Summer Fun & Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kim","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8520755_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1657301728938","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8520755"},{"teacherId":10378794,"projectId":9950938,"letterContent":"Our students are enjoying their outside resources. It was a slow roll out of the new toys so the teachers could introduce the items and help the students know how they could be used. Each day the students would come out looking for what new items were introduced. It was like Christmas morning moments each day as they found a new resource they could play with. It is amazing to see the students use out playhouse as a house, castle, or fast food drive thru. The students enjoy celebrating with each other when they kick a goal in the soccer goal. A great display of imaginative play and working on social skills through our outside playtime. The teachers enjoy playing along with the students as well. Watching the the students scoot around on the scooters and use them at times to stack blocks to move them from one area to another, shows their problem solving skills, maybe even future engineers at play. The smiles on their faces as they learned to play with the parachute men and figured out the best way to throw it up so it came down in the best way. Windy days added more excitement to this activity.\r\n\r\nThank you for all you did to make this happen for our students. Watching our students with developmental delays, autism, or other diagnosis engage with their typical peers is always a great way for them to connect. Your support has made a meaningful difference for our EC Pre-K students, and we are incredibly grateful for your kindness and investment in our classroom community.\r\nThe calming corner is a vital part of our learning environment. Many of our students are still developing the skills needed to identify, express, and manage their emotions. This dedicated space provides them with a safe, supportive area to calm their bodies, regulate their emotions, and practice coping strategies when they are feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or overstimulated.\r\nWith the materials you helped provide, students are learning how to pause, self-soothe, and return to learning in a positive way. Instead of escalating behaviors, they are gaining lifelong skills such as emotional awareness, self-regulation, and problem-solving. These skills are especially important in an EC Pre-K classroom, where students may have developmental delays, communication challenges, or sensory needs.\r\nBecause of you, our students are not only learning academics, but also building the emotional foundation they need to succeed in school and beyond.
