It has been wonderful to see my students get the opportunity to learn through exciting new projects. When our class opened the packages with the new materials in them, I know every student was thrilled at the prospect of participating in hands-on science!\r\nSince we received the materials, we have completed several of the learning centers as small groups both to review concepts or to introduce new topics. The class has had a wonderful time utilizing their scientific knowledge to play games, conduct experiments, and research ideas. \r\nOur germination project was among one of the most popular in our class. The process of sprouting their own seeds, planting, them, and watching them grow was an amazing way to learn about the life cycle of a plant. They can't wait to get their hands dirty and plant the seeds for their salsa and salad gardens. I appreciate you more than you can imagine. As a teacher I cannot afford to do so many of the activities I would like to because I can't afford it on my salary. You have given my students such a great gift. Just the anticipation alone has brought them so much joy. \r\n\r\nMany of my students are from an urban area where they do not have the opportunity or room to grow a garden. By planting our classroom garden, they will be able to see the \"fruits\" of their labor become healthy vegetables. \r\n\r\nI still remember my second-grade teacher, Mrs. London, helping me plant cucumbers and cilantro with my class.
