Your generosity means my students can come to class knowing the supplies they need are available. When the items arrived, I felt both gratitude and relief. It eased the financial burden of purchasing supplies myself and the stress of figuring out how to provide what my students need.\r\n\r\nNow, students can pick up notebook paper and a pencil, take their seats, and begin their Do Now. During projects, they can grab crayons to add color to their work. Having a printer at my desk allows me to print materials when we need them, and the dry-erase markers give my students another way to answer questions and demonstrate their understanding.\r\n\r\nFor our upcoming project on Friday, October 30, students will have the option to work at home or at school. Because of your support, I can print pictures and provide materials so every student has what they need to participate without families having to purchase supplies.\r\n\r\nThank you for taking the time to review my wish list and purchase every item. Our classroom can sometimes become a potentially stressful environment as students navigate academic challenges, transitions, social interactions, and the many emotions that come with a busy school day. I am requesting **LED lights and fruit snacks** to help create a classroom environment that supports both emotional regulation and positive behavior.\r\n\r\n**LED lights** will help provide a softer, more calming classroom atmosphere. Bright overhead fluorescent lighting can feel overwhelming for some students and can contribute to an environment that feels overstimulating. Using LED lights allows me to adjust the classroom atmosphere during independent work, transitions, testing, or other potentially stressful moments. A calmer environment can help both students and teachers pause, regulate, refocus, and return their attention to learning. These lights will be a simple but meaningful tool for creating a classroom where students can feel comfortable and ready to participate.\r\n\r\n**Fruit snacks** will be used as part of our classroom's positive behavior and incentive system. They provide an immediate, tangible way to recognize students when they demonstrate behaviors such as following directions, showing perseverance, helping others, participating appropriately, completing their work, or making positive choices. Because the reward can be given **in real time**, students can immediately connect their positive behavior with recognition and encouragement. This helps reinforce expectations while celebrating students for the progress they are making throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nTogether, these supplies will help me create a classroom that balances **regulation, encouragement, and learning**. The LED lights will help establish a more calming environment when students need to reset, while the fruit snacks will provide immediate positive reinforcement when students demonstrate behaviors that contribute to a productive classroom community.\r\n\r\nYour support will help make our classroom a place where students can **feel regulated, recognized, motivated, and ready to learn.**","fullyFundedDate":1787584872829,"projectUrl":"project/help-our-students-start-the-school-year/10331855/","projectTitle":"Help Our Students Start the School Year Ready to Learn!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Williams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9782791"},{"teacherId":8586217,"projectId":10456872,"letterContent":"I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation to my special education classroom. Your kindness and support have made a meaningful impact on my students and their learning experiences. Because of your generosity, I am better equipped to create a classroom environment that is engaging, supportive, and tailored to the unique needs of my students.\r\n\r\nThe bubble machine has brought so much joy and excitement to our classroom! The bubbles provide opportunities for sensory exploration, visual tracking, movement, and moments of happiness throughout the day. The fidgets and sensory toys have also been wonderful additions, helping students with sensory needs stay calm, regulate their emotions, and improve their focus so they can participate more successfully in classroom activities.\r\n\r\nThe fat pencils have made writing activities more accessible for students who need extra support with their fine motor skills and pencil grasp. The printer, copy paper, laminator, and lamination sheets have been incredibly valuable in helping me create individualized learning materials, visual schedules, communication supports, hands-on activities, and reusable resources that meet each student's learning needs. These materials allow me to provide meaningful learning opportunities while making lessons more interactive, structured, and engaging.\r\n\r\nEvery item you donated serves an important purpose in our classroom. Your generosity goes beyond providing supplies; it helps create opportunities for my students to learn, grow, communicate, build independence, and experience success in their own unique ways. It also reminds me that there are people in our community who believe in our students and want to see them thrive.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and helping make our classroom a place where every child feels supported, valued, and capable of learning.
