While they developed thoughtful plans, we ran out of time before they could bring their designs to life using our new 3-D printer. This year, we're eager to take the next step--transforming their ideas into printed models that allow them to truly see and share their visions.","fullyFundedDate":1739827023320,"projectUrl":"project/new-dimensions-collaborative-problem-so/8973336/","projectTitle":"New Dimensions: Collaborative Problem-Solving with a 3-D Printer","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hunter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3218069_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1676131255141","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3218069"},{"teacherId":3218069,"projectId":9236410,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our cardboard portrait project.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students have the right tools to cut, build, and create with confidence. With better scissors, safety cutters, and the ZipSnip tool, students can safely turn cardboard into 3D portraits that show off their creativity and personality.\r\n\r\nBefore this project, we only had a few dull scissors that made cutting hard and frustrating. Now, students can work more easily and focus on their ideas instead of struggling with the materials. These tools have helped them feel more confident and take more creative risks.\r\n\r\nThe cordless ZipSnip has also helped me prepare materials and show techniques quickly. I have more time to give students one-on-one help while they work. They are building important skills like problem-solving, design thinking, and fine motor control.\r\n\r\nThis project was not just about getting supplies. Because of your generosity, my students now have access to cordless hot glue guns that have completely transformed the way we approach sculpture.\r\n\r\nThis year, we've been diving deeper into three-dimensional art. From paper sculptures to air-dry clay and now cardboard portraits, students are experimenting with materials and building their creative confidence. Before, we only had a few older corded glue guns, and students had to crowd around the back counter to use them. This limited their movement and created safety concerns.\r\n\r\nWith the new cordless glue guns, students can now work at their tables, stay focused, and have more control over their projects. The insulated nozzles have improved safety and precision, allowing students to work more independently while maintaining high craftsmanship.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, I'm now able to circulate the room freely and give more one-on-one support.
