I have carefully chosen materials for our school library to enhance my students' enjoyment of the reading experience. Teaching the Dewey Decimal system and Literary Genres will help students find the books they want for independent reading. I have planned scavenger hunt activities for them to get familiar with the organization of the library. Students will be able to cozy up with a book using flexible seating options to be comfortable and lighting options to avoid glare and eye strain. My goal is for students to develop a love of reading for pleasure. Students who read widely for pleasure have increased academic success. I hope this year the library will be every child's favorite place to be!
