Every piece of equipment has made a meaningful impact on the students at our school. When I brought out the parachute for the first time, you could see the excitement in every child's eyes—they could hardly contain their eagerness to learn!\r\n\r\nSo far, we've been using the agility rings to learn about steady beat. Our students with special needs especially enjoyed practicing steady beats using the bouncing balls. And the parachute has been a big hit! We use it to explore tempo, dynamics, steady beat, and rhythm. We also learn about musical form by dancing with it. The stretchy band is perfect for our youngest learners as they explore rhythm, loud and soft, and fast and slow.\r\n\r\nAll of the equipment we received through this project has enriched our students' musical experiences—and it's all thanks to you, our donors. The students have been practicing balancing skills with yarn balls and keeping them in the air too! When we first started using the balloons to strike, the students were excited due to the celebration of colors and balloons everywhere! Soon we will be trying to strike a yarn ball or an old tennis ball to the wall. Many of them relate these skills to tennis!\r\n\r\nThe older Salamanders have been just as excited to use the paddles and Dink Nets for Pickleball like games of striking a wiffle ball to a partner. The students really get into cheering each other on especially as the rally goes on. I love watching their improvement in just a couple of class lesson. Later in the year, we are able to utilize those same nets while practicing tennis skills with a plastic paddle and foam ball. The students are able to play mini games using the nets but the paddles and ball are different and they still show as much excitement!\r\n\r\nAll of the students are grateful to our Donors providing our school with materials to use in PE. I enjoy watching our Salamanders grow and learn.
