Your donation has created meaningful opportunities for our students to develop real-world skills in a supportive and engaging environment.\r\n\r\nWe are using the new resources to operate our school-based store, which provides students with hands-on opportunities to learn important life and job skills. Students take turns stocking shelves, organizing inventory, pricing items, greeting customers, and handling purchases. One of our favorite moments was watching a student independently assist a customer for the first time. With minimal prompting, they greeted the customer, helped them find an item, and completed the sale. This experience showed tremendous growth in confidence, communication, and independence.\r\n\r\nOur students were excited and eager to begin using the new materials. They immediately wanted to explore the products and discuss their roles in running the store. Many students expressed pride and enthusiasm because the materials made the store feel more like a real workplace. Their excitement increased motivation and engagement, helping them take ownership of their responsibilities.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are focused on helping students build greater independence and workplace readiness skills. Students will continue practicing money management, customer service, inventory tracking, and teamwork through daily store operations. We also plan to introduce new responsibilities, such as creating product displays, tracking sales data, and making decisions about restocking items. These experiences will help students strengthen vocational skills, improve communication, and prepare for future employment and independent living opportunities. We are incredibly grateful to our donors for helping make these meaningful learning experiences possible.\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, our students have access to authentic learning experiences that help prepare them for future employment, greater independence, and success in their communities.
