The impact of receiving the materials has been incredible and has really helped the students grow. Everyone in the club now has the materials they need, so no one is left out. This has created a real sense of inclusion, where every student feels like they can fully take part in the club and enjoy the experience.\r\nHaving their own supplies has allowed students to get more creative and experiment with their embroidery projects. They've been able to try out different colors, patterns, and techniques, which has helped them express themselves in new ways. This freedom has given them a huge boost in confidence as they see their unique designs come to life. One student took home one of the pattern packs and within a week had embroidered it on a tote bag. She was so proud of her amazing work!\r\nThrough regular practice, students have noticed a real improvement in their fine motor skills. Embroidery requires a lot of precision, and they've become better at focusing on the details. Plus, the process has helped them develop more patience, as they take their time to complete each project--and they can tell you that learning to thread a needle takes lots of patience!\r\nWith everything they need in hand, students have been able to continue their projects both during club sessions and at home. The experience has sparked a lasting interest in crafting for many students. Some have expressed a desire to keep doing embroidery as a hobby, while others have been inspired to try out other creative activities. It's given them a new way to relax and express themselves, and many plan to keep crafting in the future.\r\nOverall, getting the materials has had a huge impact on the embroidery club. Students have gained new skills, become more independent, and developed a real sense of pride in their work. The club has also helped them bond with one another and find a lasting love for crafting.","fullyFundedDate":1738174777616,"projectUrl":"project/sew-much-fun/9085861/","projectTitle":"Sew Much Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Justice","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9841491_orig.jpg?crop=2256,2257,x0,y173&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731941478882","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9841491"},{"teacherId":9841491,"projectId":8950673,"letterContent":"I am incredibly grateful for your generous contribution to our project. Your support is helping us address a significant gap in our resources, as graphic novels currently account for 38% of our circulation but only 7% of our collection. The impact of your gift was immediate—these books were checked out as soon as I had them cataloged, and in some cases, even before they were officially on display on the shelves. Many of the first patrons to check them out were multi-language learners, underscoring the importance of this project in meeting the needs of our diverse student body.\r\n\r\nYour investment in this project will have a lasting impact, particularly for our multi-language learners and exceptional students. Graphic novels and manga provide invaluable visual context that enhances comprehension, language acquisition, and vocabulary for students learning English. For exceptional students, these texts offer an accessible and engaging way to connect with reading. Moreover, the diverse themes in graphic novels allow students to see themselves reflected in stories, fostering empathy and a sense of belonging. Thank you again for helping us create a more inclusive, dynamic, and supportive learning environment for all our students.","fullyFundedDate":1735676786567,"projectUrl":"project/manga-mania-in-the-media-center/8950673/","projectTitle":"Manga Mania in the Media Center","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Justice","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9841491_orig.jpg?crop=2256,2257,x0,y173&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731941478882","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9841491"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_2908","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":933,"numTeachers":64,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":51,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":39,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"14.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.2,"schoolId":2908,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about East Henderson High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"East Henderson High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/henderson-county-public-schools/east-henderson-high-school/2908"}
