We have already done a trial run with the camera, and even though we mostly got pictures of moving leaves, we were able to spot a deer! Students were so excited to realize that we have wildlife living this close to us in the city. We have already begun problem solving where a better spot to put the camera might be so we can avoid the leaves and catch more animals on camera. \r\n\r\nHaving the wildlife camera at this time has been serendipitous. We are also participating in the National Geographic Explorer series for schools, learning about different people working with wildlife in different ways. Your support of this project has made a real and meaningful difference for my students — not only in how they learn, but in how they feel about coming to school each day.\r\nBecause of your kindness, we were able to bring in [insert what was funded — e.g., new math manipulatives, flexible seating, hands-on learning centers, or classroom books]. These resources immediately changed the energy in our room. You should have seen their faces the day the materials arrived — eyes wide, hands reaching, and smiles all around. For many of my students, it felt like opening a gift just for them.\r\nMy class this year is full of bright, curious, and diverse learners. Some come to school already excited about math or reading. Others need a little more encouragement — and that's exactly where your donation has helped the most. The materials you provided allowed me to meet students where they are: with tools they can touch, explore, and connect with in their own way.\r\nFor example, [insert specific story — e.g., one student who struggled with number concepts was suddenly engaged when using colorful counters or games funded by the project]. Now, when we start our math block, hands shoot up with excitement instead of dread. Students are more confident, more engaged, and more willing to try — and that's a huge win in 2nd grade.\r\nAnother thing your gift did was help me create a more inclusive learning environment. Every student learns differently, and your support allowed me to introduce materials that appeal to different learning styles — whether they learn best by seeing, hearing, moving, or working with their hands. In just a few short weeks, I've seen more collaboration, more joy, and more \"aha!\" moments than ever before.\r\nTeaching is always a challenge, but knowing that there are people like you — generous, thoughtful, and committed to education — makes all the difference. Your gift reminded my students that there are people in the world who care about them and believe in their success. That message is powerful. That message sticks.\r\nThank you again for believing in our classroom. Your donation was more than supplies — it was encouragement, opportunity, and joy, all wrapped into one. Please know that your kindness is felt every single day, and we are so grateful.\r\n\r\nWith appreciation,\r\nMs.Shepherd","fullyFundedDate":1746787272414,"projectUrl":"project/2025-2026-school-year/9290529/","projectTitle":"2025-2026 School Year!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Shepherd","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7906037_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1745929712516","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7906037"},{"teacherId":1024265,"projectId":9053035,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for contributing to my project for the Julia Cook books. They love reaching for books they recognize. One of their favorites so far is \"It's Not My Fault\" about taking responsibility.\r\n\r\nHaving these books at my fingertips makes it so easy to address the different issues and concerns that arise in our classroom.
