Many of the items in this project were used to replace broken or damaged essentials from many many years of wear and tear. This is my 7th year of teaching at my school and I couldn't be any happier! This much time with many of the same used or donated materials means that we had some items that were just making it harder to learn! The microfiber erasers were a great upgrade. My students use personals whiteboards almost daily, and having a clean, quality eraser means they can keep practicing with no nasty hard to read whiteboards! \r\nAnother great addition has been the snacks I've been able to provide for my students! Our school schedule goes a bit later than many other schools in our area. Because of this, many students in last block classes are hungry and tired from the long day! Last year, I was facing students that were misbehaving, irritable and unfocused. They were clearly well behaved kids, that were just struggling to make it through such a long day. Providing snacks in class, with a conversation of taking what we need, and not just a snack because it's tasty, made a huge improvement in their behavior. Students were focused and motivated.
