This experience has taught students how to grow their own fresh food in an innovative and sustainable way.\r\nOur students have been amazed by the speed and quality of hydroponic growth. Every day, they make a beeline to the garden to check on the plants and see how much they have grown. During spring break alone, the plants grew more than six inches! Students were so fascinated that they even suggested installing a time-lapse camera to capture the growth.\r\nThe engagement, education, and excitement this garden has brought to my high school students has been priceless. This semester, I have had 21 seniors, and the garden has changed the way they think about food and where it comes from. The caddy really helps me monitor my students phone and secure. Once students don't have access to their phones they are more focused on the topic. And once they are focused their understanding of the topic is much deeper. These resulted to students getting to turn in homework on time and doing it correctly. As for the snacks included, I used this for the reward for my struggling students to turn in works. Also, I give this to students during our test. I know tests can be exhausting and challenging especially if they are hungry or with empty stomach.
