The new microphones have done so much more than amplify sound—they've amplified confidence, collaboration, and professionalism in our classroom and on our stage.\r\n\r\nMany of our donors are familiar with using technology at home, but school theatre requires tools that help students learn in very specific ways. These microphones allow students to clearly hear one another during rehearsals, which helps them build stronger timing, sharper diction, and more precise delivery. Students can now practice true vocal technique instead of shouting to be heard, and they're learning how to work with industry-standard equipment they'll encounter in college programs or community productions\r\n\r\nThey feel like \"true performers,\" and the energy in rehearsals has skyrocketed. Suddenly, even our quietest actors are stepping forward with confidence—they know their voice will carry, and that sense of security has encouraged them to take creative risks onstage.\r\n\r\nSome students, in particular, have truly blossomed. A few who struggled to project before are now volunteering for larger speaking roles. One of our newer tech students has taken a special interest in learning how to properly set and manage the audio equipment, and has begun mentoring others on the crew. The microphones opened a door for them—not just to be heard, but to discover new strengths within themselves.\r\nYour donation didn't just purchase equipment; it created opportunities, boosted self-esteem, and made our productions more inclusive for every student. Thank you for making such a meaningful difference in our program.","fullyFundedDate":1756119543275,"projectUrl":"project/mic-check-funding-our-future-at-our-the/9596705/","projectTitle":"Mic Check: Funding Our Future at Our Theatre!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wagner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8672315_orig.jpg?crop=302,302,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1694116172577","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/seventyfirsttheatrearts"},{"teacherId":6984781,"projectId":9353776,"letterContent":"I'm so excited to share how your generous contributions have made a difference through the \"Teen Mental Health Matters\" project!\r\n\r\nThanks to you, my students now have a safe and welcoming space to reset when they're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or upset. They've been using the wonderful items you helped provide, like the Calm Ball, Social Emotional Learning Conversation Starter Cards, A Kids Book About Anxiety, and even the Uno card game to refocus, regulate, and open up in meaningful ways. It's been amazing to see how something as simple as a card game or a good conversation starter can help students feel more at ease and connected.\r\n\r\nI'll never forget the look on their faces when they first saw the materials. My once bare shelves were suddenly filled with books, activities, and tools just for them. Their joy was absolutely priceless—if I could have bottled up that moment and send it to you, I would have! They were so touched that someone cared enough to invest in their mental health and well-being.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, students will continue to use these resources every time they visit my office. They were so touched that someone out there thought about them, their mental health, their growth, and their well-being. Thanks to you, we now have a dedicated space where students can pause, breathe, and practice grounding strategies that truly make a difference in their day.\r\n\r\nNext, we're taking things a step further by giving students the chance to lead, incorporating yoga sessions where they guide their peers.
