We began using them as soon as they were in the students hands. The students have been using the new journals to express their creativity during journal time. They are given a prompt much like a writing prompt in ELA class but instead of writing the students draw pictures according to how they interpret the prompt. With their new journals in hand not only did they work of being creative I saw an increase in care in their skills as they began to practice their coloring techniques and shading skills along with drawing. With the nice drawing paper in the journals the students found themselves not only drawing the main subject of their image but adding to their work with backgrounds and foregrounds. The students took their self expression to a whole new level thanks to your generosity. \r\nThe day The students received their Journals they had their falling apart, quickly made journals of stapled together copy paper and construction paper for their drawing prompts. When I passed out the nicer sewn drawing journals of actual drawing paper I wish you could have seen their reactions.
