No one could have anticiapated how our year would end, but I am grateful for the time that we had to use the resources your provided for our class.\r\n\r\nOf course, any time an unopened box comes into the classroom was a reason for celebration, but there was even more cheering when we pulled out our gigantic number line and math games. As you will see from the pictures, students loved moving \"Freddy\" the frog up and down the numberline to demonstrate adding and subtracting larger numbers. For my students who struggle with some of the abstract concepts of math, the ability to manipulate and \"see\" subtraction in action was very helpful. \r\n\r\nThe math games you helped provide are a wonderful way to reinforce skills that some students have difficulty mastering in the more traditional way. Every Wednesday, we have game day to practice important skills, and these games are a wonderful \"addition.\" The game setting also gives me an opportunity to see if students can transfer the skills. I look forward to using these games more in the future!","fullyFundedDate":1551364349852,"projectUrl":"project/distraction-free/3964978/","projectTitle":"Distraction Free!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Beam","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2608396_orig.jpg?crop=1518,1517,x0,y131&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726097304483","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/beam5"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_106925","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":943,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":41,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":41,"percentWhite":28,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":17,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"21.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.0,"schoolId":106925,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Palisades Park Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Palisades Park Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/charlotte-mecklenburg-school-district/palisades-park-elementary-school/106925"}
