When the boxes of bulletin board paper, colorful borders, and the Fulmoon Classroom Calendar Pocket Chart first arrived, my students were absolutely thrilled. Their eyes lit up as they saw the bright colors, and there was an immediate buzz of excitement as they realized these materials were for creating our very own special classroom space. We wasted no time putting these fantastic resources to use to build our brand-new classroom data wall. The pocket chart serves as the perfect foundation for our morning routine, while the new paper and borders have allowed us to design a dedicated, organized space to visually track our academic goals. A truly powerful moment happened this week when we first mapped out our current learning targets together. As students saw the clean, beautifully bordered sections designated for our growth, one student proudly remarked, \"We are going to watch our progress climb all the way to the top!\" Looking ahead, our next step is to have students begin interacting directly with this data wall as we wrap up our current unit. They will be using visual markers to track their own growth, co-creating anchor charts to post next to our goals, and celebrating whenever we master a new skill. Seeing their learning journey displayed so beautifully gives them a massive boost in confidence and ownership. I have 112 students coming through my classroom every day and it is so nice knowing that the areas where they sit are disinfected with Clorox wipes. This definitely has helped keep the beginning of year germs away! I have already had students come up and ask for band-aids due to paper cuts and hang nails. It is amazing that I do not have to send them to the nurse for little matters like those and they can remain in the classroom. This year, many of my students did not come to school with materials so it was definitely needed to have glue sticks for them to use because we do glue a lot of guided notes in our notebooks. It is such a weight lifted off of my shoulders when a student comes to class without a pencil, I know that I have some already sharpened to go. Having basketballs for students to use outside with the basketball hoops have changed recess. Having sidewalk chalk outside has allowed students to express their creativity.
